Danvers carrots do best when direct sown in early Spring or late Fall. Carrots do not transplant well and should be direct sown. Sow the seeds about 1 inch apart in well drained loose soil. Once plants sprout and start growing thin carrots to one every 2 inches. Davers carrots are a dark orange and the vegetable roots are typically 6 to 8 inches long. Carrots are a root crop and typically store well if stored properly.
