A highly requested tomato due to its’ intense flavor. Cherokee Purple is an heirloom tomato with a juicy texture. Considered by most, one of their favorite tomatoes of the season. The Cherokee Purple is definitely one of the many tomato varieties we plant each year simply because of their flavor!
HISTORY OF THE TOMATO: According to Google, the tomato came from John Green of Tennessee. John said he was given seeds from a woman that had gotten them from her neighbors. The neighbors stated that the tomato has been in their family for generations. According to the neighbors, the original seeds were given to their family by the Cherokee Indians.
